The rise and fall of Galaxy Note 7…

⚡3 minutes, 1 video

If you are a social media user, it is unlikely that you might have missed the “death” of Galaxy Note 7. It has been permanently discontinued following a “small” hardware issue which has seemingly caused catastrophic consequences for “Samsung“. The problem being with the battery which has a possibility of catching fire due to overheating, was reportedly a manufacturing defect from its supplier.

All of the internet was quick enough to spread the news to the people so much that even the US government banned the Note 7 completely for safety reasons – forcing Samsung to recall the devices, not for repair but forever. According to the company, the water resistance build of the phone somehow prevents them from just offering a replacement for the battery.

But still, the only problem with the Galaxy Note 7 was the battery. Otherwise, the phone was considered to be excellent and the best ever in the “Note” series, both by the reviewers and also the customers.

So, what was so good about the phone itself?

The first striking feature of the Note 7 was its Design.

It has a combination of “shiny” metal and glass with rounded edges and perfectly balanced ergonomic design. It simply means that the phone is great to hold in hand and has a stunning visual appeal.

Improved S-pen.

It has a superb stylus, otherwise called as S-pen by Samsung which you can use for taking/writing notes and even for drawing. It also has many other useful functions.

Watch the S-pen in action:

Improved Security.

Most phones launched recently has a fingerprint scanner. It seems Samsung wasn’t satisfied with that. Note 7 also has a Iris-recognition in addition to the fingerprint scanner.

In spite of being a big “blow” for Samsung, it is offering Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge as a replacement, or a compensation to retain its customers.

Waiting for the “Next big thing“.

Thanks!!!
